Gerard Carbonara

Gerard Carbonara (December 8, 1886 - January 11, 1959) was an American composer of concert and film music.

Carbonara was born in New York City, USA.

Carbonara began his film music career at the end of the silent film era. In the 1930s and 1940s he scored numerous films, including Stagecoach (1939). Although the score, which featured the music of several composers, won an Oscar, Carbonara was not counted among the winners. Although he never won an Oscar, he was nominated for The Kansan in 1943). In the 1940s, especially after World War II, he was involved with short films. Carbonara often worked closely with his colleague John Leipold.

Carbonara died in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.
